About
French-American artist specialising in painting and sculpture.
With a B.A. in Theatre Design moved to Florence Italy to study at Charles Cecil Studios, to be immersed in painting and sculpture.
Here she learned portraiture and still life painting using the sight-size method, which is a long held method based on a tradition passed on from generations of impressionist realist painters. The approach follows the process of working from life, seeing at a distance, all under natural light and to the scale of life.
During this time she studied at the Galleria Romanelli Sculpture Studios with Raffaelo Romanelli, learning the principles of sight size sculpture.
Nature is a constant source of inspiration, and particularly the idea of light, searching for the ephemeral qualities and symbolism it represents. Heloise is currently working on portrait and still life commissions, and a series which will be discussed and shown very soon!
Based in Florence Italy, Heloise travels between Europe and Portland Oregon.
